Sometime back in the summer, I got a call/text from a good friend of mine, Guil Claveria, who is the festival director of the Shockfest/Mockfest film festival.
He asked me if I was interested in doing still photography for his production that was taking place at the abandoned but not forgotten Linda Vista Hospital. I personally have not heard of the place so I googled it…I am not a fan of scary movies nor like scary stuff but after reading about the location, I became intrigued and anxious to see what it looked like inside.
The day before the shoot, I met up with Guil, Alesha and their crew to check out the so-called haunted hospital. I can’t say that I didn’t get chills walking down the dark hallways and looking in places that used to be patient rooms and wonder… I was however, excited to be in the in the boiler room … it was so dark and creepy that my mind was full of ideas. I was aching to be creative but at the same time I was anxiously waiting for something to creep up on me.
Aside from taking pictures I made some new friends such as Suzie Malone, Eren Ibarra, Sean Enns, Alanna Noel Bernhof, Alan Bernhoft, Amber Melfi, Jona Xiao, The Baker twins- Shauna Baker and Shannon Baker and the rest of the crew. Thank you for making making us feel at home… I had a blast working with all of you.
I want to thank Guil Claveria and Alesha Claveria for believing in my work and for giving me this opportunity to be creative.
Most of all I want to thank my dear friend Kimberly Olbrich for inviting me to shoot Shockfest/Mockfest and introducing me to the lovely couple Guil and Alesha Claveria.
